It’s been a while. Here’s some more music for datass, holiday edition. I’m about to be halfway into my tenure here and I need a little break from city living and lab work. To that end I’m returning to Tanzania for the first time since I left in 2006. Brief itinerary: bus it to Kibaha, meet up w/ my brother Kemi, cool out for a couple of days and then bus it to Mugumu, the village where I lived. Spend two weeks (way, way too little time in a home away from home I will have precious few opportunities to visit in my lifetime). Then I roll up to Moshi, where I’m going to take a stroll up Mt. Kilimanjaro with some of my roommates. Itinerary within itinerary: make a snowman, snow angel, snowball fight, snow shotties, generally enjoy the only snow I’m going to see in Africa, The pic above is the view of Kili from the top of Mt. Meru, which I hiked last time around. Can’t wait to take a similar picture from the other side.

Kujichagulia everybody.
